3 Operating Instructions
3.1
Preparation work
1.
Check that the engine support device and the
corresponding bases are complete and inspect
them for visible damages such as signs of wear,
deformation, breakages, cracks, and corrosion
damages prior to each use. Inspect the welds for
visible damage such as breakages and cracks.
Inspect the functionality of all threads. Do not use
the support bracket when defects have been
detected and discard it immediately.
2.
Carry out the necessary preparation work to use
the support device in accordance with the
workshop manuals.
3.
Install the support bracket with the required
accessory parts as described in the workshop
manual.
3.2
Mount the support bracket with the base
T30099/1 on the vehicle component
Refer to the Volkswagen Group brands workshop
manuals for information about which base to use.
1.
Align the support (3) at the base part (1).
2.
Align the arm (2) in the slot of the base part (1) in
such a manner that the arm and the spacer disc
engage in the slot. Position the arm on the vehicle
component. Tighten the M12x80 hexagon head
screw with a torque of 20 Nm.
3.
Align the pressure piece (4) in the slot on the
support (3) and position it on the vehicle
component. Tighten the M12x80 hexagon head
screw with a torque of 20 Nm.
4.
Set the base T30099/1 between the pressure piece
(4) and the vehicle component in such a manner
that the pressure piece (4) lies centrally on the
base.
3.3
Mount the support bracket with the base
T30119 on the vehicle component
Refer to the Volkswagen Group brands workshop
manuals for information about which base to use.

Align the support (3) at the base part (1).

Align the arm (2) in the slot of the base part (1) in
such a manner that the arm and the spacer disc
engage in the slot. Position the arm on the vehicle
component. Tighten the M12x80 hexagon head
screw with a torque of 20 Nm.
3.
Loosen the M12x80 8.8 hexagon head screw from
the pressure piece (4). Remove the pressure piece
(4) from the support (3). Store the pressure piece
(4) with the M12x80 8.8 hexagon head screw in a
safe place.
4.
Align the adapter 10-222A/31-3 on the support (3)
as described in the workshop manuals and position
it on the vehicle component.
5.
Tighten the two M10x25 screws of the adapter
10-222A/31-3 with a torque of 15 Nm in order to
secure the adapter to the support (3).
6.
Attach the base T30119 to the vehicle component
exactly as described in the workshop manuals.
7.
Insert the pressure piece (4) into the hole of the
base T30119.
3.4
Working with the support bracket
1.
Ensure that the support bracket with the base
T30099/1 or T30119 is correctly positioned on the
vehicle component.
WARNING
Danger of a tilting or falling load!
Attaching the support bracket incorrectly could
result in the load tilting or falling. This could result
in serious injuries and severe damage to materials.
Fasten the support device to the vehicle exactly
as described in the workshop manuals.
Align and position the arm on the base part
exactly as described in the workshop manuals.
Align and position the pressure piece on the
support exactly as described in the workshop
manuals.
Tighten the arm and the pressure piece only
with screws of the specified quality and
dimension and with a torque of 20 Nm.
Ensure that the correct base T30099/1 or
T30119 is positioned correctly.
