Coolant unit GXW (Figure 3 + 4 )
Position the tank on the base plate of the
cylindrical grinding device.
Fill up the coolant tank with approx. 30 –
35 litres of coolant.
Place the lid with the pump unit onto the
tank and mount the return hose to the con-
nection sleeve of the basin (14).
Mount the coolant hose (27) to the cylindri-
cal grinding device.
The coolant hose must be mounted in such a
manner that the brake wheel or work piece
cannot catch hold of it.
Plug the plug of the coolant unit into socket
outlet (21).
Mounting/replacing the grinding belt.
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the power plug from the socket outlet.
Release the belt tension lever (1).
Mount a grinding belt, size 75 x 2000 mm.
The direction-of-rotation mark of the
grinding belt must correspond with the
direction of rotation.
Tension the grinding belt with the belt ten-
sion lever (1).
Rotate the grinding belt manually and
observe if it moves left or right of the con-
tact roller.
Adjust the guidance of the drive wheel on
the belt grinder in such a manner that the
grinding belt runs centred. The exact adjust-
ment is made with the machine running.
Switch the belt grinder on. Check if the con-
tact pulley rotates in the direction of the
arrow.
Switch the belt grinder off again.
When the contact pulley is turning in the
opposite direction of the arrow, then the
rotation direction of the motor must be changed by
a qualified electrician.

Adjusting the guide rail
(Figure 3A + 5)
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the power plug from the socket outlet.
Loosen both bolts (26) and adjust the clear-
ance of the guide rail to the brake wheel:
–
Pipe diameter 10 - 12 mm: Adjustment
according to Figure
.
–
Pipe diameter 12 - 100 mm: Adjustment
according to Figure
.
Tighten both bolts (26) again.
Adjusting the brake wheel (Figure 3)
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the power plug from the socket outlet.
Adjusting the parallelism
Release clamping lever (12) and adjust the
brake wheel (17) with the handle (13) in
such a manner that it runs parallel to the
contact pulley when viewed from above.
With this measure, a uniform feed pressure
and grinding pattern are achieved. The opti-
mal setting must be determined by practical
testing.
Adjusting the incline
Unclamp the clamping lever (18). Adjust the
brake wheel (17) with star-knob bolt (19) in
such a manner that it is slightly inclined
toward the left with reference to the work
piece.
The more the brake wheel is inclined, the
higher the feed speed. The optimal setting
must be determined by practical testing.
Setting the clearance between brake wheel,
work piece and contact roller
Unclamp the clamping lever (20).
Tilt the drive unit back with lever (16).
Insert the work piece to be ground.
Tilt the drive unit toward the front again so
that the brake wheel faces against the work
piece.
Adjust the gap clearance (23) to 1 mm.
Tighten clamping lever (20) again.
