Connect the power supply to the appropriate wall outlet and reconnect the
Rectal Light Handle cord to the power supply cord and verify that the lamp is
illuminated.

16 or contact your local Service Center (page 1-20) for further assistance.

Clean the rectal light handle immediately after each use by following the
cleaning procedure described here.
These procedures require the use of an intermediate-level disinfectant
(ILD) wipe and solution that includes the following claims on its labeling:
•
that it is effective in killing Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (TB) and
•
that it does not cause adverse effects (corrosion) to plastics, rubbers,
and metals
Users of the rectal light handle must also observe site-specific governing
regulations for protection of personnel and for effective handling and
disposal of ILD waste by-products.
Rectal Light Handle, Ref 73210:
1.
Disconnect the rectal light handle from the power-supply cord and from the
endoscopic device.
2.
Allow the lamp to cool for at least 5 minutes. Do not proceed until the lamp is
comfortably cool to the touch.
3.
Unscrew the outer sleeve of the handle by turning it counterclockwise.
4.
Using the appropriate ILD wipe, wipe the handle body and the handle cord
according to the instructions supplied by the ILD manufacturer.
