DUST DISCHARGE
In order to keep the work surface clean, a dust bag is attached to the file sander. The dust bag (7) is installed
at the dust discharge connection (3) (Fig. C).
Empty the dust bag regularly to ensure efficient operation of the sander. It is recommended that the dust
bag be emptied as soon as it is half full.
Do not use the dust bag when sanding metal surfaces because of the risk of fire.
The mains voltage must correspond to the value specified on the device nameplate.
Before turning on the file sander, grasp it firmly with both hands. The device may be turned on only
when it is raised above the material which is to be worked.
TURNING ON / OFF
● Short-time operation: Press and hold down the switch button (6).
Continuous operation:
Turning off:
Press and release the switch button (6).
ABRASIVE BELT TRACKING ADJUSTMENT (adjustment of axis parallelism in guide rollers)
● Turn on the device.
When the sanding belt is moving, rotate the abrasive arm clamp knob (
the abrasive belt runs straight, without a tendency to track off to one or the other side (Fig. F).
If the abrasive belt is allowed to slowly track off towards the sanding arm side (which means that the
roller axes are not parallel), the abrasive belt damage will soon follow.
When using this power tool, try to keep the surface of abrasive belt and the surface of material being
worked parallel to each other.
ABRASIVE BELT SPEED CONTROL
Speed of the abrasive belt can be adjusted by turning the belt speed control knob (4) and setting it in the
desired position. This allows you to adjust the operating speed of the power tool to the properties of material
being worked. The speed control range is from 1 to 6.
The higher the number that appears on the circumference of the abrasive belt speed control knob (4) (Fig. D),
the higher the speed of device operation.
For rough sanding, use abrasive belts with grain size 40 or 60. For finish grinding or polishing, abrasive
belts with grain size designated by a higher number should be used. When the surface of the material
to be worked is rough, you should start with an abrasive belt having grain size as for roughing, and only
afterward you can use an abrasive belt with grain size intended for finishing work.
SANDING ARM ANGLE ADJUSTMENT
The sanding arm can be positioned at any angle relative to the housing within a range above 90
Loosen the sanding arm position locking lever (
Set the desired angle and tighten the sanding arm position locking lever (
OPERATING THE FILE SANDER
The file sander equipment includes two sanding arms: one straight and one curved.
The straight arm is used for sanding and working of flat and arched surfaces and/or edges, while the curved
arm is generally used for sanding convexities as shown in Fig. I.
Do not press down on the file sander too hard. The pressure should be moderate and evenly
distributed over the contact surface between the abrasive belt and the material being worked.
Applying too much pressure on the file sander will cause an abnormal decrease in the speed of
