Lens Controls
Use the lens controls to zoom in or out, adjust aperture, or focus.
Zoom
■
Rotate the zoom ring to zoom out, increasing the area
visible in the frame, or zoom in on your subject so that
it fi lls a larger area of the frame.
Q
Rotating the zoom ring while the lens is wet increases
the risk of water getting inside the lens. Dry the lens
before using the zoom ring.
Aperture
■
Rotate the aperture ring to stop aperture down, rais-
ing the f-number and narrowing the aperture, or stop
aperture up to lower the f-number and widen the ap-
erture.
Focus
■
Rotate the focus ring to reduce or increase the focus
distance.
Macro Zoom
■
To use macro zoom:
A
Rotate the focus ring to the minimum focus dis-
tance.
B
Slide the macro switch as shown and keep it in this
position while rotating the macro ring as far as it
will go in the direction shown.
C
Rotate the zoom ring to choose a focus position.
Note: The lens can be used with the macro ring posi-
tioned between the macro and normal positions, but
in this case the minimum focus distance and the focus
range will be also be between those of the macro and
normal positions.
Ending macro zoom: Rotate the macro ring in the direc-
tion opposite to that shown until the macro switch
clicks back into place.
