When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, turn unit off
and disconnect machine from power source before
installing and removing accessories, before adjusting
or changing set-ups or when making repairs. Be sure
the trigger switch is in the OFF position. An accidental start-
up can cause injury.
The machine is fully assembled except for the legstand, wheels and
table top.
ASSEMBLING THE LEGSTAND (FIG. B)
The legstand components and fasteners are packed separately.
1. Assemble the legs and traverse rails using the nuts, bolts and
washers as shown. Do not completely tighten at this time.
2. Ensure that the plastic feet are all facing downwards. The
assembled frame is shown in figure A.
3. Place the machine on the legstand, ensure the machine base fits
over the legstand on all four sides.
4. Secure the machine to the legstand using the nuts, bolts and
washers supplied with the tool.
5. Firmly tighten all the bolts.
MOUNTING THE WHEELS (FIG. B1)
1. Place the first wheel bracket in front of the plate, aligning the
mounting holes.
2. Attach the bracket to the plate using the fasteners.
3. Repeat on the other wheel brackets.
4. Attach the plate to the legstand using the fasteners.
5. Adjust the clearance of the wheels to the ground to 0-0.5 mm.
WARNING: The machine must be level and stable at all
times.
MOUNTING THE TABLE TOP (FIG. C)
1. Ensure the beveling table support (11) is in the horizontal position
and lever (12) is locked.
2. With the scale (39) to the front, install the table top on the beveling
table support (11) using the four bolts.
3. Refer to the insert in figure C for correct positioning of the bolts.
Correct positioning of the table top ensures optimal performance of
the blade and prevents damaging the table insert.
4. Loosen the lever (12) to tilt the table, lock it again and secure all
four bolts temporarily.
5. Bring the table back to horizontal position.
MOUNTING THE CARRYING HANDLE (FIG. A)
1. Place the handle in front of the mounting location to the right of
machine.
2. Attach the handle with screw.
MOUNTING TO THE FLOOR (FIG. A1)
Always bolt the machine to the floor using the floor anchor holes (17)
provided.
MOUNTING THE BANDSAW BLADE (FIG. D1–D7)
WARNING: The teeth of a new blade are very sharp and
can be dangerous.
1. Loosen the table clamp and move table to maximum angle. Use a
spanner to unscrew hex bolt securing the door. This will deactivate
the microswitch immediately (fig. D1).
2. Open the door as far as possible (fig. D2)
3. Lower the table. Ensure the door is open completely to allow full
access to the wheels for blade change.
4. Loosen the knob (40) to swing away the scale (39) (fig. D4).
5. Select and unpack an appropriate blade.
6. Loosen the bandsaw blade tensioner (8).
7. Retract the blade guard assembly (3) (fig. D5).
8. Slide the blade through the table slot (41).
22
9. Position the blade between the upper and the lower guide blocks
(42, 43) (fig. D6).
10. Guide the blade over the upper and lower band wheels (22, 23).
11. Make sure the teeth of the blade point down and to the front (fig.
D7).
12. Swing the scale (39) back to its original position and lock the
knob (40) (fig. D4).
13. Do not close the blade guard or the door at this time. Adjust the
blade as described below.
14. Once the new blade has been positioned and set, the procedure
to close the door is reversed as shown above. Clamp the table in
position now.
WARNING! Be aware the saw blade shall be replaced in
the described way only. Only use saw blades as specified
under Technical Data.
ADJUSTING THE BLADE TENSION (FIG. E)
The correct tension depends on the width of the blade used. Refer to
the scale (24) on the machine.
Adjust the blade tension using the blade tensioner (8) until the pointer
(23) indicates the tension corresponding to the blade width.
ADJUSTING THE BLADE POSITION (FIG. A, F)
The blade must be centered on the rim of the upper bank wheel (22).
WARNING: Do not touch the blade but rotate the upper
bank wheel (22) with your finger on one of the spokes.
While rotating the upper bank wheel with one hand, slightly rotate the
blade centring adjuster (fig A, 14) with the other.
ADJUSTING THE BLADE GUIDE BLOCKS AND REAR SUPPORT BEARINGS
(FIG. D6, G)
During the sawing operation, the blade is exposed to frontal and lateral
forces. The rear support bearings (25) are positioned 0.5 mm behind
the blade to control the blade front-to-back movement. The 45˚ and 90˚
guide blocks are positioned 0.1 mm from the blade to control the lateral
blade position.
1. Tilt the table to 45˚ to access the lower guide assembly.
2. Loosen the knob (24) and position the rear support bearing (25)
0.5 mm away from the blade.
3. Tighten the knob (24)
4. Loosen all four hex screws (26), position the blocks 0.1 mm away
from the blade and tighten the hex screws again.
5. If required, loosen the nut (27) to move the entire guide assembly.
6. Ensure the blade runs in the centre of the table insert.
7. Tighten all four bolts which secure the table to the beveling table
support.
8. Close the blade guard (3) and the door.
9. Clamp the table into position
MOUNTING AND ADJUSTING THE RIP FENCE (FIG. H)
The bandsaw table is provided with a U-shaped slot and a scale for the
rip fence.
1. Loosen the locking knob (28).
2. Slide the assembly onto the front of the table using the U-shaped
slot (29) as a guide.
3. Tighten the locking knob (28) and check that the fence is parallel to
the blade.
4. If adjustment is required, loosen the hex screws which are
accessible through the holes (29A) in the fence and adjust as
required.
5. Tighten all screws and check again.
MOUNTING THE MITRE FENCE (FIG. J)
The bandsaw table is provided with a groove which accepts the mitre
fence.
The mitre fence (6) is equipped with an adjustable stop (30). The mitre
fence can be locked at any position from 0 to 60˚ left and right and is
locked with the locking knob (31).
Simply slide the mitre fence onto the table and lock it at the required
angle.
