2. Inspect the tip for damage and replace if
necessary.
3. Slide the disposable shroud (included in the
Extended Length Tip kit) over the handpiece
and snap into place. Ensure that the tip lies in
the center of the shroud and is not touching the
shroud - failure to do so will result in overheating
of the handpiece.
4. Attach the flue by pushing firmly into place on
the shroud. Adjust the flue as necessary so that
the end of the flue lines up in the center of the
pre-aspiration holes. The handpiece is now ready
for use.
Aspiration Channel Stylet
In the event the aspiration channel of the Extended
Length Tip gets clogged, use the stylet supplied in
the tubing kit to remove the clog.
Disassembly of the Tip from the
Handpiece
1. Remove the flue and the shroud from the
handpiece and dispose of properly.
2. Lay the handpiece in a wrench holder as shown
below with the tip with the wrench in a counter-
clockwise motion, then unscrew the tip by hand.
3. Clean the handpiece, reusable shroud, wrench
set, and angled extension piece as described in the
CUSA NXT™ or CUSA Selector® Operator's Manuals.
