Commissioning and checking operation of the main electric service pump
Carry out the preliminary operations below:
1)
Connect the water supply
2)
Checkt the pre-charge value of the expansion vessels, if applicable.
3)
Shut the on-off valve located on the delivery line of the pump.
4)
Prime the pumps (refer to the pump booklet) and the inlet pipes.
5)
Clean the set and its surrounding area thoroughly, removing all stains and dirt, oils, fuels, thinners, etc..
6)
Make sure there are no rags or other lightweight materials near the air suction inlets.
7)
Make sure there are no foreign bodies near the rotating parts.
8)
Stow all the tools and rags in the appropriate storage containers.
9)
Check that the electric pump is fastened to the ground or to a foundation secured to the ground.
10) Check that there are no excessive vibrations that could damage the system.
11) Make sure there are no loose nuts and bolts.
12) Check that the water pipes are connected correctly.
13) Connect the wires of the power cable to the panel, prioritizing the ground wire.
14) Check the electrical connection of the safety conductors.
15) Turn the function switch of the control panel to its "0" position.
16) Turn the main door-lock switch QS on control panel to its "ON" position and check that:
The control board starts up.
-
The "power off" LED does not turn on.
-
17) Turn the function switch of the control panel to its "MAN" (MANUAL) position.
18) Start up the electric pump manually by pressing and holding the "START" button until the motor starts running.
19) Gradually open the pump delivery valve, letting out the air and increasing the pressure of the system up to the set value of
the pressure switches. Use the pressure gauge situated near the pressure switches to read the pressure of the system.
20) Check in which direction the electric pump turns and, looking from the side of the fan, check that the motor turns clockwise.
If it turns in the wrong direction, turn off the electric panel, turn the main door-lock switch to its "OFF" position and invert the
two power phases on the terminal block of the electric motor. Turn the electric panel on again by turning the main door-lock
switch to its "ON" position.
21) After the motor has been running for a short while, press the "STOP" button to turn it off.
22) Check that there is pressurized water in the system to ensure that the contacts of the pressure switches for starting the
electric pump are normally closed.
23) Turn the function switch of the control panel is in its "AUT" position (the electric pump must not start up while the system is
pressurized).
24) Adjust the pump starting device (located just up the line from the pressure switches) in order to reduce the pressure for the
pressure gauge. This automatically starts the electric pump.
25) Immediately restore the pressure to the device and press the "STOP" button (the electric pump should turn off and go into
standby).
26) Turn the switch of the jockey pump (when applicable) to its AUT position.
Perform any other functional and/or safety tests if necessary (at the customer's request or to meet the requirements of specific
standards).
During operation
- Check the system and stop the electric pump if there are any signs of leaking.
ATTENTION
- The contact that signals running of the electric pump closes and can trigger alarms if the pump is
running.
After this initial start-up, the following checks must be carried out with the electric pump at standstill and in safe mode.
Make sure there are no leaks in the water circuits.
Make sure there are no loose nuts and bolts.
