Commander ID300/302

• ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

- All connection work must be performed in accordance with the laws in force in the country where the drive is
installed. This includes earthing to ensure that no directly accessible part of the drive can be at the mains voltage
or any other voltage which may be dangerous. The voltages on the cables or connections of the mains supply, the
braking resistor or the filter may cause fatal electric shocks. Contact must be avoided in all circumstances. The drive
must be supplied via a circuit-breaking device so that it can be powered down safely.
When the leakage current exceeds 3.5 mA, a permanent fixed ground connection must be provided to the system
using a 10 mm
flat braid (a grounding hole is located on motor housing).
2
- The STOP and the Safe Torque Off functions do not remove dangerous voltages from the drive, the motor or any
external option units.
- The control circuits are isolated from the power circuits in the Commander ID300/302 by single insulation only.
The installer must ensure that the external control circuits are insulated from human contact by at least one layer of
insulation (supplementary insulation) rated for use at the AC supply voltage.
• COMMISSIONING
- The drive contains capacitors which remain charged at a fatal voltage even after the power supply has been cut
off. If the drive has been energized, the AC supply must be isolated at least ten minutes before work may continue.
- The Commander ID300/302 has a low DC bus capacitance (film capacitors) which can induce voltage ripple on
the DC bus with low load conditions. Default setting of the drive addresses this phenomenon; for more dynamic
applications, it is advisable to adapt the setting.
- The motor is designed to operate at the speeds shown on the nameplate (do not exceed the maximum speeds
stated in the motor technical catalogue ref.5147).
- Certain applications require particular construction specifications.
- Do not use the motor for anything other than indicated on the nameplate.
- Check the voltage imbalance on the 3 phases remains below 2%.
• MAINTENANCE
- Ensure that the mechanical and electrical installation limits are respected.
• RECYCLING
- When reaching end-of-life, the different motor components should be entrusted to a material reclaiming contractor
to be recycled.
WARNING : These specifications, instructions and descriptions concern standard operation. They do not
take into account any variations in construction or special adaptations.
If these recommendations are not respected, the motor may deteriorate prematurely and manufacturer
guarantee may not apply.
