Commander ID300/302
This document aims at presenting the main recommandations dedicated to storage and commissioning of
the Commander ID300/302.
All work relating to transportation, installation, commissioning and maintenance must be performed by
experienced, qualified personnel. The mechanical and electrical installation instructions discribed in the
document ref.5511 must be adhered to (for other languages than French and English, please refer to www.
commanderID300.info). Any questions or doubt should be referred to the supplier of the equipment. It is the
responsibility of the owner or user to ensure that the installation, operation and maintenance of the system
(motor and drive) and its options comply with legislation relating to the safety of people and equipment and
with the regulations in force in the country of use.
• CONFORMITY
- The Commander ID300/302 conforms to Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU which is demonstrated by their CE
marking
- The Commander ID302 meets all necessary requirements of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the EMC
Directive 2014/30/EU. Only SAFE TORQUE OFF function may be used as a safety function of a machine (certified
by TÜV).
• RECEIPT
- Check the state of the motor and drive. If the product or even the packaging has been damaged, notify your
haulage contractor (if required, renovation cannot be undertaken under warranty).
- Check product compatibility with the order (e.g information on nameplate).
• STORAGE
- Place the equipment in a clean dry area, protected from impacts, vibrations, temperature extremes and in an
environment with relative humidity less than 90%.
- When storing for longer than six months, consult the documentation ref.5511 or the manufacturer.

• BEFORE INSTALLATION

- Check system compatibility with its environment before installation and over its entire operating lifetime.
- Drain any condensation water (drain plugs are provided at the lowest points).
- Handling: when the motor is equipped with lifting rings, these are only to be used for lifting the motor. (The motor
must not be allowed to overturn).

• MECHANICAL INSTALLATION

- Mount the system (motor and drive) in its anticipated position, on a firm, level bed to prevent distortion and
vibration.
- Ensure that the fixing screws of the motor (foot or flange) and the drive (housing drive or option cover) are
tightened to the correct torque. The screw diameter must fit the fixing holes.
- Ensure that alignment of the mechanical shafts and mounting of the coupling or pulley are carried out correctly.
- Do not knock the shaft or the coupling when mounting, do not damage the seal, do not over-shoot the shoulder
of the shaft.
- If the motor and drive is started up without a coupling device having been fitted, carefully immobilize the key in
its location.
- Make sure that the system (motor and drive) is properly cooled. The air inlets and outlets must be clear.
- Check that the loads applied to the motor shaft (especially the belt tension) comply with the maximum values
stated in the motor technical catalogue (ref.5147).
- The condensation water drain holes should be at the bottom of the motor; dot not install the product in a position
other than the one stated in the order. When there is no risk to the motor protection, the drain plugs for the
condensation water can be removed.
