5 Install the card into the selected slot.
Make sure the card is oriented properly and that both sides are in alignment with the
card guides (see Figure 3).
Hold the card firmly by the extractor levers or bulkhead (do not touch card
components or traces) and carefully slide the card into the slot.
To avoid damage to the card and computer hardware, push the card only on the
extractor levers or on the bulkhead. Do not overtighten the retaining screws. Do not
use the screws to push the card into place. Fully seat the card before engaging and
tightening the retaining screws.
6 Slide the card all the way into the card cage until you feel firm resistance against
the backplane connector. Place your thumbs on the extractor levers (or bulkhead)
and push firmly until you feel the card slide fully into place. The card's bulkhead
will press against the card cage.
