For the operator, in the front part (loading zone) and on the fixed plane, there remains a residual risk in the phase
of loading and unloading, maintenance and cleaning and during all the following manual operations that take place
by introducing the hands or other parts of the body into the dangerous zones, due to the possible burn due to the
presence of parts having temperature higher than the level of burn (45°C). So, both the operator and the mainte-
nance technician, must not only be duly informed and trained, but they must also operate carefully, respecting the
indications reported in the labels fixed next to the fixed guards and the different access points, by proceeding with
the utmost attention and avoiding the contact with these parts. From the stop, or in emergency or for functional
stop or for absence of power supply:
the operator, for the loading and unloading operations, must always use suitable protection devices for the
hands, the limbs, such as gloves and clothing against the thermal danger, resistant and suitable for the particular
nature of the risk;
the maintenance technician, to carry out operations before the above mentioned time has passed, must
always use suitable protection devices mentioned above;
both the operator and the maintenance technician, to carry out operations of cleaning, maintenance, replacement
of parts etc., must not have access with any part of the body, hands and arms included, into the internal part of the
machine, but they must wait at least 4 hours after the interruption of the feeding (cooling time of the parts with a
temperature considered of burn) as indicated in the labels placed next to the access points and the fixed and movable
guards.
The workers must not wear rings, watches, jewels, torn clothing, scarves, ties or any other hanging clothing or acces-
sory that can be risky; tighten well the sleeves around the wrists and keep always the hair well tied
RESIDUAL RISK DUE TO THE IGNITABILITY AND EMISSION OF FUMES
There remains a residual risk of possible fire, in case the food products loaded into the baking chamber remain there
for a time longer than the established one for the operations of baking. In this case, not only the fire but also the
emission of fumes can occur. Therefore, the operator must not only be duly informed and trained, but he must also
operate carefully, respecting the indications reported in the labels fixed next to the fixed guards and different access
points, by proceeding with the utmost attention and by maintaining always under visual control the state of baking
of the food products. The operator, in case of stop, or in emergency or for functional stop or for absence of power
supply, must:
wear a suitable protection device of the respiratory tracts, if, with the lowered door, baking fumes can be
seen, in order to avoid inhale the fumes that can be suffocating;
open the door manually by grasping the suitable handle;
remove with the suitable equipment, the food products present in the baking chamber;
use always suitable protection device for the hands and for limbs, such as gloves and clothing against the
thermal danger, resistant and suitable to the particular risk nature.
The workers must not wear rings, watches, jewels, torn clothing, scarves, ties or any other hanging clothing or acces-
sory that can be risky; tighten well the sleeves around the wrists and keep always the hair well tied. In order to avoid
the dangers arising from a fire, the user must not only train and inform suitably the operator and the maintenance
technician, but he must also arrange suitable fire protection systems (e.g. the portable fire extinguishers of emer-
gency use) next to the work place suitable for the typology of materials that can catch fire: such as the electric and
electronic devices of the electric equipment. The water must not be used for putting out fires
RESIDUAL RISK DUE TO THE REMOVAL OF THE FIXED GUARDS, INTERVENTIONS ON BROKEN OR WORN
Under all circumstances, the operator must never try to open or remove a fixed guard or tamper a safety device.
During the maintenance and cleaning phase and during all the further manual operations occurring by introducing
the hands or other parts of the body into the dangerous areas of the electric equipment, there remains a residual
risk due above all to:
impacts with constructive parts of the electric equipment;
slipping and/or abrasion with rough parts of the electric equipment.
The operator and the maintenance technician must not only be duly informed and trained, whenever they carry out the
above mentioned operations, but they must also use protection devices for the body, hands, feet and suitable clothing.
Besides, the operator and the maintenance technician must be trained for the intervention linked to the manual
operations, they must be instructed on the following linked risks and they must be authorized by responsible person.
