3.7. POWER SUPPLY
The connection of the power supply must comply with the law in force in the country where the machine is used. The power supply
system of the user upstream of the command and control device of the machine must be designed and installed in conformity with
the applicable requirements of the safety rules for "low voltage user systems" in accordance with IEC3644 / HD384 / CEI 64-8 (latest
editions). With regard to the electrical distribution system that powers the command and control device of the machine, it is also
compulsory for it to fully and correctly belong to one of the TT or TN normalized systems in accordance with IEC364-4-41 / HD382-4-41
/ CEI 64-8 (4-41) (latest editions). In connection with the above mentioned instructions and indications, the corresponding earthing
system must fully comply with the applicable requirements for the coordination with associated active devices, in accordance with
IEC364-5-54 / HD382-5-54 / CEI 64-8 (5-54) (latest editions).
To prevent dangerous contact voltages in case of insulation defects between live components and ground connections, voltages
between ground connections or inappropriate consents or stoppages that may arise on command circuits following a number of
ground defects, all ground components on the machine are connected to the equipotential node and to the earthing system from
the feeding network through the PE terminal and coordinated with devices ensuring the automatic interruption of the feeding in
case of failure. The equipment is projected to withstand a symmetrical short circuit current of short duration not higher than 6kA.
If the expected conditioned admissible nominal short circuit current, in the installation point, is greater than the indicated value, it
must be carefully limited. Considering that in the electric supplied equipment, for the drive and control of the machine, there is not
the incorporation of electronic circuits working at continuous current, we recommend that you should take the suitable measures
to guarantee the protection against the indirect contacts: in the sphere of the protection for automatic feeding interruption foresee
suitable differential devices. The differential device must be of the type strongly resistant against the impulsive overcurrents of atmo-
spheric origin and manoeuvre (see EN 61008-1 latest editions). Besides, we state that:
•The cut-off device of the power supply, at the top of the electric board, is not commensurate with any nominal interruption power,
as it is a socket/plug combination; besides, it must be protected against the short circuits by a protection device having nominal cur-
rent not higher than the technical data;
•The protection device against the overcurrents must be installed upstream of the feeding cable of the electric equipment and main-
tained in compliance with the technical prescriptions.
The feeding cut-off device (Fig. 3.7.) allows separating (insulating) the electric equipment of the machine from the power supply. In
case of incompatibility between the network socket and the equipment plug, you must have the socket replaced with another suitable
one by maintenance technicians.
