Photo 14. Cut to length more strips 10 and 26 to be glued to the interior side of part 23. Do not cover the lugs
that project out from the part. Above the strips cover the rest of this side of the part with the parts 29, fitted
horizontally and using contact glue. Trim off any excess strip. Gently sand down the edges and paint the strips
using pore-filler varnish.
Photo 15. Now remove the partition 30. Cut out and glue on one of its sides the strips 10 and 26. On the top
part fit the decoration 31. On the other side of the partition glue on more strips 10 and 26. The strips 29 are
glued on horizontally. Make sure that you do not cover the lugs that project out from the partition. When this
has been done trim off any excess of the strips or decoration.
Photo 16. Fit the sides 32 and 35 as shown in the image. Cut strips 33, 34 and 10 to length and glue
them onto side 32. Trim off any excess and then sand down and varnish the strips. Now glue the
decorations 38 and 39 into place and trim off any excess. Now line side 35, using strips 33, 36 and 10.
Varnish the strips and then glue on decoration 37. Make sure, with both parts, that you do not cover the
projecting lugs. Also make sure that you do not cover the slots into which the interior partition 30 has to
be fitted. Check out the following step.
Photo 17. Paint the radiators 40 matt black. Glue each one of them centred below the muntin of each of
the side windows. Now assemble the whole unit. The two end parts 23 and 24 must be fitted into place
with the strips fitted, see step 12, on the outside of the interior. Use fast-acting glue. Stain the exteriors of
the two sides Sapelli colour.

Photo 18. The parts shown here are required to make up the 2
class bench units. Stain them Sapelli colour
before gluing the backrest 41 and the base of the seat 42 together. The feet 43 are glued on by fitting lug
into the slot. Glue this assembly together using fast-acting glue. Cut the strips 44 and 45 to length, to make up
three benches all the same, as shown in the next step.
Photo 19. Before going any further, round off the edges of the strips 44 and 45, which will be used to
make up the bench backrest and seat cushions. Sand down and varnish all of the parts required, before
painting them matt blue. First of all glue a length of strip 44 onto the backrest, and then a length of strip
45 above it. Finally glue another length of strip 44 onto the seat. Paint the feet 43 brown. Glue the
armrests 46 into place once they have been painted.
nd
Photo 20. These parts are used to make up the 2
class ingle bench seat assembly. First stain Sapelli
colour and then glue the backrest 41 and the base 47 together. Make up two left side benches and two
right side benches. The legs 48 and 49 are for the right and left side benches. Also check out the next
step. Round off the edges of strips 44 and 45 and then apply the same process as used for the assembly
of the previous double benches.
Photo 21. Once you have put together the paint the feet, 48 and 49, brown and the backrest and seat
cushions, 44, 45 and 46, blue. First glue the backrest cushion into place and then the seat cushions, as
you did with the double benches. Use fast-acting glue.
rd
Photo 22. These parts are used to make up the structures of the 3
class double benches. Glue the
interior legs 51 to the lugs on the base 50. Glue the separator 52 to the base, making sure that it is
perpendicular. Use fast-acting glue. Previously stain Sapelli colour.
Photo 23. Cut the Sapelli strips 55 to the indicated length and start to glue them to the profile of the legs 51
and the separator 52. First working towards the front of the seat and then up to the top of the backrest. Repeat
this operation on the other side of the bench. Also glue the armrests 54 into place on the exterior legs. Use
fast-acting glue.
Photo 24. When you have made up the five double benches, varnish them. Glue the legs 53 centred on
the other end of the benches, using fast-acting glue. Paint the central part of the legs brown and the
bottom of the legs and the armrest black.
