REF. 53684
2. The liquid level should be near the bottom of the opening. If necessary, add high grade hydrau-
lic oil.
3. Make sure that the sealing ring is still in place around the oil filler screw and screw the filler
screw into the pump securely. Do not use thread sealing tape.
4. Follow steps on page 12 (air in pump).
General Operating Instructions
1. Use the Hand Winch (14) to adjust the height of the press table.
Note: The press table should be in the highest position possible with the work piece as close as
possible to the ram.
2. Place the item to press on the Arbor Plates (12). Turn the Arbor Place to support the stationary
part of the work piece.
WARNING! Make sure there is no obstruction (suction such as a lost bolt or debris) under the
plates. Such items create an uneven surface.
WARNING! When two elements are pressed together, they must be aligned vertically. If this is not
the case, an object may be forcibly ejected to one side of the unit.
3. Open the release valve, the piston will lower quickly. When pressing two items together, make
sure they are aligned vertically. Continue to operate the pump handle to press the work piece.
4. When the task is complete, take care to release the pressure from the pump. For safety, remove
the pump handle and then slowly turn the pump release valve, allowing the piston to back up.
WARNING! During the release process, the ram may rise quickly. Stay away.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must be performed only by a qualified
technician.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM TOOL FAILURE:
WARNING
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the
problema corrected before further use.
1. Before each use, inspect the overall condition of the press, piston and pump. Check for broken,
cracked, bent, loose or missing parts, and any condition that may affect the proper operation of the
product. If a problem occurs, correct it before using it again.
Do not use damaged equipment.
2. Before each use, thoroughly test piston (2) and pump (41) for proper operation. If the pump
does not appear to be working, follow the hydraulic fluid purge instructions.
3. Change the hydraulic oil at least once a year. To change the hydraulic oil:
a) With the piston completely lowered, remove the pump from the structure (1).
b) Remove the oil filler screw.
c) Tilt the pump to allow old hydraulic oil to completely drain out of the unit and dispose of it accor-
ding to local regulations.
d) Completely fill the unit with a high quality hydraulic oil (not included) until the oil starts to flow
out through the fill hole.
e) Reinstall the oil fill screw.
f) Clean with a clean cloth using a detergent or mild solvent.
g) Replace the pump on the frame post (see step 5 - assembly instructions).
