MTU: The MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) setting specifies the largest
packet size permitted for network transmission. Most DSL users should use
the value 1492.You can set the MTU manually, and you should leave this
value in the 1200 to 1500 range. If the value you set is not in accord with the
value of your service provider, it may causes problems.
Primary DNS: The DNS server translates domain or website names into IP
addresses. The most common DNS server address you use or one provided
by your ISP should be entered.
Secondary DNS: The IP address of a backup DNS server should be input
here, or you can leave this field blank.
You can select from three mode to make/maintain connection to the
Internet – automatic connection (default), auto disconnect when idle or timed
out, or connect to Internet manually.
Connect to Internet automatically (default): This mode will always try to
maintain a connection to the Internet. It connects automatically when the
power is on, and if disconnected it will try to reconnect
Auto disconnect when idle, time out: In this mode a connection is not
automatically made when power is on, but the user must request a
connection. If the connection is idle for a time set here, the connection will
end and there will be no automatic reconnection process.
Connect to Internet manually: This mode leaves all connect/disconnect
commands up to a user.
