4. QUESTIONS/ANSWERS

What do I do if?
The ingredients do not blend
properly?
The blade rides up the bowl?
Balls of dough form above the
blade, and the dough is not
smooth?
The dough is hard to the touch
after kneading?
Anwers
• Liquid ingredients must only be
added while the motor is running.
Pour them in through the feedtube
only, never directly into the bowl.
Check that the liquid is blending
correctly with the other ingredients.
If this is not the case (if you have
poured in too much liquid at once,
or if the liquid splashes on the sides
of the bowl), stop pouring, but do
not stop the motor running. Wait
until the ingredients have blended
before adding the remaining liquid.
• If butter has not been melted, it must
be diced before being added. Bring
butter to room temperature before
adding.
• The blade has not been inserted
correctly. Check that it has been
pushed in far enough.
• The quantity of dough exceeds
the
maximum
recommended
amount. Remove part of the
dough and process the dough in
two batches.
• If the dough is very sticky, it could
cause the blade to ride up the
bowl. In this case, re-insert the
blade, switch on the motor and
add 40g of flour immediately
through the feedtube opening.
• Stop the motor, remove the
dough, divide it into 3 pieces and
distribute around the inside of the
bowl. Switch on the machine
again, and knead until the dough
is elastic and pliable. Check that it
is neither too dry nor too moist.
• Divide the dough into 2 or 3 even
pieces and distribute around the
inside of the bowl. Knead until
the dough is elastic and pliable. If
necessary, add some water.
What do I do if?
The dough does not form a ball?
The dough runs down onto the
base unit of the machine?
The motor slows down?
The motor stops?
Answers
• The quantity of dough exceeds the
maximum recommended amount.
Remove part of the dough and
process the dough in two batches.
• The dough is too dry. If it feels
lumpy, add some water, 15ml at a
time, while the motor is running,
until the dough forms a ball,
which leaves the inside of the
bowl clean.
• The dough is too moist. Add a lit-
tle flour (10g at a time), until the
dough forms a ball, which leaves
the inside of the bowl clean.
• The kneading blade has been
designed to knead a minimum of
400 grams of dough. If you are
making less than 400 grams of
dough, you should use the chop-
ping blade.
• Always start the motor running
before adding liquid ingredients.
Pour the liquid slowly, adding
more as soon as the last lot of liquid
has been absorbed by the other
ingredients.
• The quantity of dough exceeds the
maximum recommended amount.
Remove part of the dough and process
the dough in two batches.
• Do not knead the dough for too long
once you have added all the ingredi-
ents. 30 seconds is adequate for the
richest dough.s.
• The lid has come off.
• The machine has been disconnected.
• A very strong force may cause over-
heating and stopping of the motor.
This machine is equipped with a
safety thermostat which blocks the
motor in case of overheating. In this
case, allow the machine to cool
down for 15 minutes. Afterwards,
separate the dough into two equal
pieces and resume kneading. Ensure
that the dough is not too hard. If
this is the case, add a little water
and resume kneading.
