4 INSTALLATION

Once the equipment is unpacked, check if it is all right. Preserve the packing for
some days. Any damage or anything missing, please contact your dealer as soon
as possible.

4.1 Location

Place the equipment over a flat, levelled and stable surface, suitable for the equip-
ment weight and not exposed to direct sunlight.
With the aim of having the best equipment performance, keep it isolated, as much
as possible, from any magnetic or electrical field source or any other electrical devi-
ce that could generate high frequency fields.
Install the unit in an area free of dust, corrosive gases and hard vibrations.
Place the equipment at a distance lower than a 1.5m from a power socket.
The power required is 220±22V@50±1Hz or 110±11V@60±1Hz.
To work in a comfortable way, left a free space of 50cm around the equipment and
a minimum of 20cm behind.
The best working temperature range is 16-35ºC and the humidity is 45-80%.
Remove obstructions or materials that could obstruct the air flow around and
underneath the equipment.

4.2 Power supply connection

Please, select a socket near the equipment and suitable for its power.
Make sure the printer's power is off. Link the printer's data cable to the
equipment's parallel port.
Make sure the machine's power switch is in the OFF condition, link the power cord
to the equipment and insert the other end in the socket provided with a protective
earth contact. Use only the supplied cord or similar ones to connect the equipment.
For your safety, the equipment must always be earthed.
Before switching on, make sure that the voltage and the power frequency corres-
ponds to the indicated in the equipment, if not a severe damage may occur.
Switch ON the power. The equipment will begin to self-test. After a self-test and a
20 minutes' pre-warm, the machine will be ready to work. To skip the 20 minutes
pre-warm, press any key.
Note: DO NOT OPEN SAMPLE COMPARTMENT LID DURING SELF-TES-
TING.
Attention:
After transportation or a period of use, the working condition of the instrument
may change because of environment changing or any other cause, such as the
attenuation of power light, vibrations, etc. Users need to re-calibrate the system to
keep it in its best working condition.
