Step 10.
Ascending and Descend the structure in the following manner:
ASCENT: Climb in the methodical and recommended manner i.e. two hands one foot, one hand two feet and be aware that
impeding any part of any safety device potentially exposes the user to risk.
DESCENT: To descend, climb normally down the ladder or ladder rail rungs at a steady rate. If the traveller locks on to the
cable, move upward slightly to release the traveller and then continue descending.
Step 11.
Resting at a non-designated position :The Cabloc or Cabloc Pro traveller should not be used as a work positioning
device. When stopping or resting during a climb users must;
1. Use an approved work positioning device or stop at a designated resting platform.
2. Remain in positive contact with the ladder at all times, with both hands and feet.
3. Push the traveller above the chest position so that the cam is actively engaged with the wire before attaching a work
positioning device.
INSPECTION: To ensure safe, efficient operation, the Cabloc System should be inspected per the instructions in Table 1 at the
indicated frequencies.
IMportant: Record the inspection results in the Periodic Examination and Repair History in the "General Instructions for Use and
Maintenance".
IMportant: If the Cabloc System has been subjected to a fall arrest or impact forces, it should be inspected per the instructions in
Table 1 before any future use.
DEFECTS: If inspection or operation reveals a defective/damaged condition, remove and replace the defective/damaged
component(s).
IMportant: Only Capital Safety, or parties authorized in writing, should provide replacement components for the Cabloc System.
MAINTENANCE & SERvICE: Guidelines for maintenance and service are as follows:
The Cabloc System is virtually maintenance free dependent on environment. Occasionally the System may need cleaning.
This should be done with a soft brush, warm water and a mild detergent. Ensure the parts are thoroughly rinsed with plenty of
clean water. Although highly resistant to chemicals and environmental conditions, take all precautions to avoid contaminating
the system with acids, bitumen, cement, chloride, paint or aggressive cleaning fluids.
Stainless Steel parts are particularly susceptible to pitting corrosion from chlorine, so avoid exposure in this type of
environment. If the system is likely to be contaminated, please contact your Capital Safety Certified Installer or Capital Safety
for advice.
In areas where ice formation is possible, the System should be cleared of ice. When not in use, the traveller should be stored
per the following Storage recommendations.
STORAGE: Store the Cabloc traveller in a clean, dry, warm environment. Avoid areas where chemical vapors may exist.
Thoroughly inspect the traveller after extended storage. Clean and store body support and associated system components
according to the manufacturer's instructions.
