OPERATION: General procedures for using the Cabloc System are as follows:
WarnIng: Before each use, carefully inspect Cabloc System per instructions below and don a full body harness. The harness
must be examined before each occasion of use in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The harness should be properly
adjusted to a snug fit and should not be used if loose. (Table 1).
Step 7.
Pre Use checks - The System: Before each use, carefully inspect Cabloc System
1) Check that there are no obvious signs of damage to the system, such as breaks, kinks or excessive sag in the cable
or damaged brackets.
2) Check that the disk attached to the tensioner is free to turn. For system with the bottom anchor ring check that the
groove is visible on the bottom anchor.
3) Always verify the free space required beneath the user to ensure there will be no collision with the ground or other
obstacle in the fall path.
4) Check the system label for the maximum number of users and that the systems certification is valid.
Step 8.
Pre Use checks - Traveller: Before each use, carefully inspect the traveller
1) Check that the spring is functioning by lifting the cam arms and letting go, the cam arms should spring back.
2) Check the rivet and rivet nuts for signs of damage.
3) Check the gate of the carabiner opens, closes and locks.
4) Check for cuts, abrasions and fraying.
5) Check that there is no visible damage to the connection between the integral energy absorber and Cabloc traveller
and the integral energy absorber and karabiner.
6) Check that the energy absorber element is intact, in good condition and has not been deployed.
Step 9.
Attaching to the system - Cabloc Traveller:
1) Remove the carabiner.
2) Push the cams as far up as possible and the ensure the arrow on the traveller is facing up.
3) Insert the cable into the horizontal port, with the device on its side.
4) Return the Cabloc to the vertical position. The traveller will automatically position itself on the cable.
5) Lock the device, by replacing the carabiner.
6) Push the gate of the carabiner upwards, twist clockwise and then open. Pass the attachment point of your harness
through the gate and let go. The karabiner will lock automatically.
7) You are now attached to the Cabloc System. To remove the device follow the same process in reverse.
Step 9.
Attaching to the system - Cabloc Pro:
1) Visually inspect the Cabloc Pro for signs of damage and or loss of functionality.
2) Check that you have the device orientated in the correct position for attachment. Look for the UP arrow on the
aluminium plates.
3) Holding the device in both hands, pull out and then pull backwards and hold the locking plate lever with your thumb.
4) Pull back the cable guide and ensuring the cam is not engaged, place the cable through the opening in the side of
the device.
5) Let go of the device. The device is automatically locked on to the cable.
6) When not in use the cam holds the Cabloc Pro on the cable by pulling down on the karabiner.
7) Providing you have carried out your other pre-use checks identified in section 5 of this manual, you now attach your
harness to the system using the triple locking integral karabiner hook.
8) Push the knurled gate of the karabiner upwards, twist clockwise and then open. Pass the front chest D ring of your
harness through the gate and let go. The karabiner will lock automatically.
9) To remove the device follow the same process as above.
IMPORTANT: You must never use a lanyard to attach to the Cabloc System during climbing. Use of a lanyard will reduce

functionally of the traveller and in the event of a fall will increase the free fall distance and the loading to the system and the
user.
