The tip will now flame for a few seconds before self-extinguis-
hing.
Hot blower
Turn the temperature regulator ro max.
setting, and pull back the tip sleeve until
the exhaust port is exposed. Point stream
of sparks into the exhaust port. Once the
exhaust port is glowing, release the tip
sleeve. The tool is now ready for use.
3. Adjustment
The tip temperature can be adjusted by
turning the temperature regulator, observe
the + (Hi) and - (Lo) signs on the tank. It is
not necessary for the tip to glow bright red
to achieve satisfactory soldering
temperatures. Experience will dictate the
adjuster setting required.
4. Tip replacement
- The tip comprises a stem, combustion chamber and tip. It is
held in place by screwing the collet into the front housing.
- The catalyst seen throught the tip exhaust ports is very delicate
and will not sustain mechanical abuse without serious damage,
requiring tip replacement.
5. Flint replacement
Remove Phillips screw at top of cap and replace flint. Use Colibri,
Flexolite or Ronson flints.
