For calculating the average volume, in l, aspirat-
ed by the pipette, use the following formula:
Average aspi-
Average aspirated amount
rated volume
=
Liquid density
[μl]
Mark the liquid the pipette recalibration was car-
ried out for.
Remember that in case of aspirating a liquid of
a density close to that of distilled water you
should recalibrate the pipette again.
7 - TROUBLESHOOTING
If you notice an improper pipette operation, find
the reason and eliminate the fault. Doing this,
follow the instructions in the given sequence.
Replacement of elements into new ones may
happen only exceptionally, and should not
occur under normal pipette use.
Droplets of liquid remain in the pipette tip.
• The pipette is emptied too fast.
Decrease the speed of pressing the pipette
pushbutton.
• The tip wettability has increased due to exten-
sive use.
Replace the tip with a new one.
Droplets of air appear in the aspirated liquid.
• The pipette tip immersion is too shallow.
Immerse the tip deeper according to the
instructions.
• Liquid is aspired too fast.
Decrease the speed of aspiration.
• The pipette tip is inadequately pressed onto
the pipette cone.
Press the pipette tip harder.
• The tip is damaged or worn out due to exten-
sive use.
Replace the tip with a new one.
Liquid drops out from the tip.
• The pipette tip is inadequately pressed onto
the pipette cone.
Press the pipette tip harder.

[mg/μl]
• The pipette inner parts are dirty because
• The shaft (15) sealing surface is damaged.
• The gasket (12) and/or O-ring (13) is damaged.
• The plunger (8) is damaged.
Replacement of the plunger requires recalibra-
tion of the pipette.
Exceeded value of the accuracy error (A)
If you find that the accuracy error (A) - the differen -
ce between the real volume aspirated and the
loose, (Fig. 6).
Remove the ejector (16), pressing the ejector
pushbutton (2) unscrew the nut (14), pull out
the plunger (8) and plunger spring (9). Tighten
the pressure plate (10).
of pro longed pipetting of corrosive agents or
because liquid got inside the pipette.
Remove the ejector (16), pressing the ejector
push-button (2) unscrew the nut (14), pull out
the plunger (8) and plunger spring (9).
Unscrew the pressure plate (10) from the nut
(14), and remove all remaining elements from
the nut (14) and the shaft (15). Wash the shaft,
nut, plunger and all other elements in distilled
water or isopropyl alcohol, and dry them.
Grease the gasket (12) and O-ring (13) with
lubricant that has been included with each
pipette.
Re-assemble the pipette in the reverse order.
Disassemble the pipette as described above.
Wash and dry the elements. Grease the gasket
(12) and O-ring (13) with lubricant.
Replace the shaft (15) with a new one.
Re-assemble the pipette in the reverse order.
Disassemble the pipette as described above.
Wash and dry the elements. Replace the gasket
(12) and O-ring (13) and grease them with
lubricant.
Re-assemble the pipette in the reverse order.
Disassemble the pipette as described above.
Wash and dry the elements. Grease the gasket
(12) and O-ring (13) with lubricant.
Replace the plunger (8) with a new one.
Re-assemble the pipette in the reverse order.
