Connection of the outdoor unit
-Connect the pipes to the outdoor unit's
closing valves, following the same
instructions used for the indoor unit.
-Tighten the nuts with spanners and do
not tighten too much, so as to avoid
breaking the flared parts.
Caution
Seal the flared joints and the connection
pipes of the indoor unit in such a way
that no part remains uncovered. If they
are sealed excessively, however, dirt
may accumulate. If they are not sealed
sufficiently, condensation may be
produced and cause the unit to drip.
Drainage pipes
-Install the drainage pipes in such a
way as to create a gradual downward
slope. Illustration 1 is correct, the rest
are incorrect (fig. 7).
-If lengthening the drainage tube,
follow the diagram (fig. 8).
Electrical supply wiring for the
outdoor unit
-Carry out the connection as shown in
the diagram. Connect the connection
wires of the outdoor unit with those of
the indoor unit, following the colours
and corresponding number sequence
(fig. 9).
-During the connection, check that the
colours, number sequences and the
diameter of the wires, coincide. The
connection wires that connect the
indoor and outdoor units must coincide
in order to avoid polarity problems (the
refrigeration-only model does not have
a transmission cable)
-The yellow/green wire is the earth
wire and must be connected carefully
so as no to cause strong electrical
discharges.
-Once the connection has been carried
out, fix the wires with wire-grips and
replace the cover of the wiring terminal,
so as to avoid serious injury.
-The nuts of the wiring terminal must
be tightened, so as to avoid them
coming loose. Gently pull on the wires
to check that the connection is secured
well.
-If the connection wires are too short,
they can be joined adequately to
another wire.
-Check that the diameter of the wires
complies with requirements and that
the colours coincide.
Attention
-Do not connect the wires incorrectly,
as this could prevent the correct
working of the apparatus, activate the
security system or cause serious injury.
Testing
-Once checked that the joints of the
channelling system are tightened well,
clean the channelling and carry out a
vacuum suction.
-Remove the copper covers which
prevent dust and dirt accumulating on
the connecting joint nuts of the
high/low pressure valve.
-Loosen the copper nuts of the low
pressure valve (thin pipe) turning them
half a circle anti clockwise.
-Loosen the connection nuts of the high
pressure valve (thick pipe) turning a
full circle. Gas will come out of the
nut. After five seconds, tighten the
connection nuts of the valve again.
Once this operation has been carried
out, the cleaning of the channelling
and the vacuum suction is complete.
-Carefully check the joints of the
system's pipes and the valve covers,
with a gas leak detector or soapy water,
so as to detect any gas leakage.
-If there is no gas leakage detected,
