In combination with a heater, the modern system you have acquired represents an all-
around technical solution.
By its excellent mechanical, biological and chemical filtration the Tetratec
Filter provides for crystal clear, healthy water. The maintenance of the EasyCrystal
is extremely easy: No need to rinse out the filter media, no wet hands!

Handling
Installation and Operation (picture 1 to
5): Unpack a filter cartridge, put it on the
enclosed filter clip (picture 1) and place it
in the filter as shown in picture 2. If using
a filter cartridge with activated carbon, first
rinse out briefly with water before use.
Attention: Make sure the upper tab of
the corner of the cartridge is on the right
towards the outside of the filter. The front
side of the Biological Grid is marked with
"Front" and should point towards the front
side of the filter.

aquarium, the

FilterBox is ready to

slide into the custom hangers located at
the back of the top frame of the aquarium
(picture 3). For all other aquarium types
please use the enclosed suction cups,
attaching them as shown in pictures I and
II.
The outlet of the filter should be placed at the
water surface. The distance between filter
and the gravel on the bottom of the aquarium
should at least amount to 2.5 cm (picture
4). If you have placed plants or other objects
in the aquarium, the distance to the filter
housing should be at least 1.5 cm. On the

front of the FilterBox the minimum water
level is engraved.
Now place a suitable heater into the
intended compartment. Attach the enclosed
clip to the heater and slide this along the rail
seat in to the FilterBox. (see picture 5).
We recommend using the precise Tetratec
Heater HT100. A Tetratec
HT100 is already
®
included in the Tetra AquaArt
(100 l and
®
130 l) aquarium kit.
The water outlet of the Tetratec
EasyCrystal
®
Filter can be regulated individually (picture
6). Without the regulator the water flows
out of the full length of the outlet. With the
regulator you can regulate the direction of
the water outlet individually.
Additionally the use of an aquarium air
pump for aeration is recommended (e.g.
APS 150). Important: The filter
Tetratec
®
needs a running-in phase of approximately
two weeks. Do not place any fish in the
aquarium during this time! Test the most
important water values during this phase.
Only introduce fish if the values are suitable.
Please make sure that the stocking with
fish is moderate at the beginning and
that additional fish are introduced to the
aquarium in stages.
Care and Maintenance
For crystal clear water the filter cartridge
(EasyCrystal
®
FilterPack 600) should be
replaced approximately every 4 weeks –
when the timestrip shows "all red" (included
in every FilterPack free of charge).
All AquaArt tanks have a holder for the
timestrip under the front lid (feeding door).
Before putting the timestrip into this holder
please press on the round bump to activate
it and then place it in the holder with the
®
marked side showing to the front (picture
7 – 9).
For all other aquarium types you need to
use the timestrip holder which is included
in the EasyCrystal
FilterBox 600. Place the
®
holder under the feeding flap after removing
the adhesive foil on the back of the holder.
Open the lid of the holder, press on the round
bump and put the timestrip into the holder
according to the picture in the see-through
window. Close the lid of the timestrip holder
again (picture III – VI).
In order to change the EasyCrystal
600 cartridge (E) unplug the power plug,
simply remove the cartridge by pulling
upward at the clip, then squeeze the clips
to release the used / dirty cartridge into the
rubbish. Insert the new cartridge with the tab
at the upper right corner, into the clips and
then insert into the filter. Then plug in the filter
again. That's it! (see pictures 10 and 11)

Safety regulations, important!
Before carrying out a water change or
any maintenance to the device always
isolate the Tetratec
®
Filter and any other electrical unit from
the mains electricity. The control unit
cannot be replaced. If this is damaged
the filter must no longer be used. The

Filter is only
designed for use in temperatures which
do not exceed 35°C.

activated carbon absorbs most remedies.

local retailer.
Filter Biological Grid (G)
The EasyCrystal
®
should be cleaned only rarely and can be
used repeatedly. If the Biological Grid is
clogged take it out of the housing and rinse it
out – ideally in water you have siphoned from
the aquarium before in order to keep many of
the useful bacteria cultures.
Do not use soap or cleaning agents as
their residues could be harmful for the fish.
It is not advisable to use sand in the aquarium,
if the distance between the EasyCrystal
Filter and the ground is less than 10 cm.
If the motor of the filter is very noisy unplug
the filter and take it out of the FilterBox.
Remove the motor cover (I) and impeller
(K). Rinse out the pump (J) with water and
clean the impeller. After cleaning, replace the
impeller, the pump and the pump housing and
finally close the motor housing by clicking it
back on the filter. Put the filter back into the
FilterBox and reconnect to the mains (see
picture 12).
When filling tap water into the aquarium
FilterPack
®
you should add Tetra AquaSafe in order to
neutralize substances that are harmful for
fish such as chlorine and heavy metals.
This appliance is not intended for use by

or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that

responsible for delivering the used product
to a specialized collection point where it will
be accepted free of charge. You can obtain
information about such a facility from your
local authorities or the product seller.
