General
The fingerprint module FPM 611...
in the Vario design is an access con-
trol system used both in the stand-
alone mode as an independent unit
and in the Siedle Vario Bus. In this
system, a scanned fingerprint is used
to actuate a function.
Remark relating to the installa-
tion site
The module can be integrated in all
Vario housing models both outdoors
and indoors. When used outdoors,
we recommend keeping the module
in a weather-protected area
Actuation of a function
(e.g. door release)
To actuate a function, for example a
door release, a potential-free contact
is available directly in the
FPM 611-... (make time 3 secs.)
Conductor material for instal-
lation
In stand-alone operation, light cur-
rent conductors type YR 0.8 mm
core diameter can be used for the
installation.
Range
The range between the transformer
and FPM 611-... is limited to 130 m
with 0.8 mm core diameter.
Conductor routing
In order to comply with the general
safety regulations for telecom-
munication systems in accordance
with VDE 0100 and VDE 0800, and
to prevent electrical interference,
ensure separate routing of heavy
and light current conductors. A dis-
tance of 10 cm must be adhered to.

Safety remark/pilfer safeguard
In order to install an FPM 611-...
with the necessary manipulation
security, we recommend using a
pilfer safeguard controller
DSC 602-... In conjunction with
pilfer safeguard accessory
ZDS 601-..., the FPM 611-... can only
be manipulated if considerable force
is used.
Mounting
1
Terminal plan for standalone
operation
2
(not illustrated) Insert the ribbon
cable with combination plug.
3
(not illustrated) Insert the
FPM 611-... into the mounting
frame.
Note
All FPM 611-... devices in a system
must be updated to the latest
firmware version.

Operating instructions/
Commissioning
The fingerprint module FPM 611...
in the Vario design is an access con-
trol system used in the "stand-alone
mode" or in the Siedle Vario bus. In
this system, a scanned fingerprint is
used to actuate a function (such as
a door release).
Depending on the operating mode,
up to max. 100 users (scannable
fingerprints) can be managed by the
system.
Vario bus operation
In bus operation, fingerprints are
scanned and deleted using the pro-
gramming interface PRI 602-..., pro-
gramming software PRS 602-... and
an IBM compatible PC. Operation
and the procedures for this are
described in the programming
instructions for the EC 602-...
Which types of fingerprints exist
and what can they do?
Any one finger can only be scanned
in for one fingerprint type (adminis-
trator, group administrator, master,
group master or user).
Administrator fingerprint
Issues entitlement to scan in max. 5
master fingerprints. (Only one
administrator fingerprint can be
scanned in).
Group administrator fingerprint
Issues entitlement to scan in max. 5
group master fingerprints. (Only one
group administrator fingerprint can
be scanned in)
Master fingerprint
Issues entitlement to scan in max.
100 user fingerprints.
Group master fingerprint
(max. 5 possible)
Issues entitlement to scan in/delete
up to max. 100 user fingerprints
which can be distributed over 5
groups (added up over all the-
groups).
Every group master fingerprint only
has entitlement for its own group.
