Fitting external accessories
Protecting the end positions against uncontrolled overrunning
Check whether proximity switches are necessary (as safety limit switches or
S
hardware limit switches).
If you are using proximity switches (sensors)
Use proximity switches with normally−
S
closed function.
These will protect a DMES−... with a
fractured proximity switch cable against
overrunning the end position.
If you are using magnetically−actuated proximity switches
Use the grooves in accordance with Fig. 23.

Note that the magnet is situated asym
S
metrically on the inner slide (on the side
facing away from the motor).
Avoid external influence caused by mag
S
netic or ferritic parts in the vicinity of the
proximity switches (at least 10 mm gap
from the sliding blocks).
If you are using inductive proximity switches
Use switching lugs, sensor supports and proximity switches in accordance with
S
the chapter Accessories".
Use hammer−head screws for fastening
S
the sensor supports in the groove.
The hammer−head screws require the re
cess in the cover as a guide channel. You
can bring the hammer−head screw into the
holding position by turning it 90°.
