10. Communications Connection
Before starting the communications cables connection process, check that the cables are
disconnected on the other end, or if connected, the devices are off.
10.1. Connection of braided cable

Enter the braided cable to the unit via the packing gland located right to the right of the 4 square ones
reserved for the fiber optic cable.
•
Inside the communications switch, look where the fiber optic triggers and internal braided cables are
connected.
•
Enter the RJ45 cable from the installation to any of the switches free ports. We recommend leaving a 4-5
cm loop before tightening the cable with the packing gland.
10.2. Fiber optic connection
The INGECON EMS Plant Controller has 2 patch-panels with triggers pre-installed, in order to facilitate a good
connectivity of the fiber with the unit. In order to make a good connection, proceed as follows:
