9. Connection of the measurement transformer signals
Before starting the connection process for the measurement transformer signals, previously verify
that the cable hose is disconnected from any energy source, or that no power circulates through the
measurement transformers.
Specifically, check that no power circulates through the current transformers nucleus, since in these
transformer´s secondary circuits there is a dangerous voltage.
•
Enter the corresponding hose to the measurement transformer signals via the two packing glands located
to the right. The further one on the right is for the current transformers, and the one right next to it for
the voltage transformers.
•
We recommend leaving a small hose loop (4 ~ -5 cm radius) within the unit before cutting them to the
corresponding distance.
•
Once the hoses are cut, peal the last 10 cm section to strip the power cables to their individual
insulation.
•
After uncovering the cables, cover the end of the hoses together with the start of the individual cables
with a heat-shrink plastic of 4 ~ 5 cm on each hose.
•
Loosen the X04 and X05 terminal screws from the lower part of the terminals.
•
Strip the last 1 cm of the cables and insert them into the X04 terminal in the following order (from left to
right):
1.
Phase
2.
Neutral
3.
Ground
•
Re-tighten the X04 terminal screws again once the bare wires have been entered.
•
Strip the last 1 cm of the cables and insert them into the X05 terminal in the following order (from left to
right):
1.
Secondary 1 from phase 1
2.
Secondary 2 from phase 1
3.
Secondary 1 from phase 2
4.
Secondary 2 from phase 2
5.
Secondary 1 from phase 3
6.
Secondary 2 from phase 3
•
Re-tighten the X05 terminal screws again once the bare wires have been entered.
•
Lift the cover of the lower cable entrances and insert the hose into it, so that the hose goes in the lower
side, and in the upper part the individual wires come out to the X04 and X05 terminals.
•
Recover the cable entrance cover and make sure that it is properly closed and fastened.
