General Setup via FOUNDATION fieldbus

You can configure the M400 FF transmitter via display on-site, configuration tool or asset-
management-tool. For step 1 to 3 see documentation of the tool.
Prerequisite: The M400 FF transmitter and the sensor are mounted and electrically connected.
h Note: The Device Description (DD: *.sym, *.ffo) and the cff-files (*.cff, *.hfx) are on the sup-
plied CD-ROM. You can also download the files via Internet "www.mt.com/m400" or
"www.fieldbus.org".
1. Copy the files into the FF configuration tool or asset-management-tool.
2. Configure the interface.
3. Configure the transmitter for the measuring task and for the FF system.
The M400 FF transmitter is identified by the FF in the host or configuration system via the
DEVICE_ID. The DEVICE_ID is a combination of the manufacturer ID, device type and the se-
rial number of the transmitter. It is unique and can never be duplicated.
