Hydraulic schematic of the system
The tubes must be scaled with as few
bends as possible to minimise pressure
drops and
must
be
supported to avoid overstressing the
unit's connections.
Near the components subject to
maintenance, install cut off valves to
allow replacements to be made without
the need to empty the system.
Before insulating the pipes and loading
the systems make a preliminary check
to make sure there are no leaks.
Insulate all the cooled water pipes
so as to prevent condensate from
forming. Make sure that the material
used is of the steam barrier type. If it is
not, cover the insulating material with
appropriate protection.
Furthermore make sure that the
accessibility
to
the
valves extends beyond the insulation
thickness.
We recommend installing or at least
making provision for their possible
insertion both at the input and
output of the instrument unit for the
measurement of the pressure and the
temperature of the hydraulic circuit.
These instruments will permit proper
operation to be monitored.
The circuit can be kept pressurised by
using the expansion tank (present in
the units with pump kit) and a pressure
relief valve. A system fi lling assembly
(present in the unit with pump kit)
can be used that automatically acts
to pressurise if there is a fall below
the required pressure value and to
maintain the required circuit. Install
manual or automatic valves at the
highest point in the circuit to bleed air
from the circuit.
Victaulic quick fi t joints are provided
for connection to the unit. The joints
permit the expansion of the piping
due to temperature variations and
furthermore the elastomer gasket and
clearance provided for help to insulate
and absorb noise and vibrations.
If sprung anti-vibration mounts are
installed under the unit, the use of
fl exible joints on the unit's water
inlet
and
outlet
connections
recommended.
Open the water drainage valve and
air breather valve to empty the system
completely.
Insert a tap at the unit's outlet to be able
to regulate the water fl owrate.

The attachments consist of two quick
Victaulic type connection joints complete
with connection fi ttings and gaskets not
installed. The connection fi ttings supplied
with the unit are provided to be able to
weld them to the end. Hereunder we
show the instructions to follow to install
the quick connection joints.
Check the pipe grooving (fi g.02)
Check the depth and diameter of the
bottom of the grooving as well as its
distance from the ends of the pipes.
Check that the work is done carefully
and that the end surface of the pipes is
smooth and not ovalised.

could jeopardise the seal.
Check of the gasket and the relative

of the fl uid. Spread a fi lm of grease over
the gasket: on the back, on the side ribs
and on the internal lips in contact with
the pipe. Prevent the gasket coming into
contact with dirt particles that could
damage it. Always and only use synthetic
grease. The grease makes it easier to put
the gasket and on the pipe and improves
its seal. Furthermore, slide the gasket
into the joint and avoid it being subject
to tension and it protruding near the
bolts.
Installation of the gasket (fi g.04)
Completely insert the gasket into the end
of the pipe. Make sure that the gasket
adheres to the pipe.
