Make sure that any portable ladders are
securely positioned, that they are sufficiently
resistant, that the steps are intact and not

slippery, that these do not move around when
someone climbs on them and that someone
supervises at all times.
Make sure that the work area has adequate
hygiene and health conditions in terms of

lighting, ventilation and the solidity of relevant
structures.
Wear individual protective clothing and

equipment during all work phases.
All operations inside the appliance must be

performed with the necessary caution in order
to avoid sudden contact with sharp parts.
Before handling, empty all components which

may contain hot water and perform bleeding
where necessary.
Make all electrical connections using suitably-

sized conductors.
Protect the appliance and all areas in the

vicinity of the work area using suitable material.
Handle the appliance with the necessary
protections and with due caution. When lifting
loads with cranes or hoists to make sure of the
lifting stability and efficiency

in relation to the movement and weight of
cargo, sling load correctly, apply ropes to
control the movements, handle from a position
with a full view of the entire path, do not allow
the passage of persons under suspended load.
Arrange materials and equipment in such a way
as to make handling easy and safe, and avoid

the formation of any piles which could give way
or collapse.
Reset all safety and control functions affected
by any work performed on the appliance and

make sure that they operate correctly before
restarting the appliance.
