8.2 Preparing for installation
Checklist
1. Read the installation and operating instructions for
all equipment, including the generator, measuring
cell, pumps, and accessories. Store the manuals in
a dry place where the operators may reference
them as needed.
2. Measure the pressure and temperature in the
dilution water line and in the main water line.
3. Measure the room temperature and humidity.
4. Obtain any required approval for storing chemicals,
if necessary.
5. Purchase accessories, see section
list.
6. Fit a tapping sleeve for the dilution water supply in
the drinking water line.
7. Fit a tapping sleeve for the injection unit in the main
line.
8. Install a protective pipe for the ClO
injection point if necessary.
9. Fit a tapping sleeve for sample-water extraction at
the main line, if necessary.
10. Provide personal protective equipment per
codes/regulations and OSHA guidelines.
11. Display all warning signs provided. Display a
warning sign: "No fires, exposed flames or
smoking".

8.3 Connecting the power supply cable
Warning
Incorrect electrical connections may result in
serious personal injury and damage to property.
Electrical connections may only be carried out by
authorized service personnel trained by
Grundfos.
Switch off the power supply before starting work.
Carry out power supply connection according to
the local regulations.
Provide for an all-pole separator.
Warning
Risk of gas poisoning due to escape of gas from a
damaged volume compensation bag.
Do not route the power supply cable through the
void behind the controller.
Route it up at the side between the controller and
the reaction tank.
Prerequisites for the main switch:
- Operating voltage min. 110 VAC
- Operating current min. 4 A, max. 15 A
- 2-pole interruption.
Position the main switch as close as possible to
the OCD-162 system.
