Checking the steering
Periodically check the condition of the steering system. Worn or
loose steering bearings may cause danger. Place a stand under
the engine to raise the front wheel off the ground. Hold the lower
ends of the fork legs and try to move them forward and backward.
If any free play can be felt, have an Authorised
Centre check or repair the steering. This check is easier if the
front wheel is removed.
Securely support the vehicle so that there is no danger
of it falling over.
Wheel bearings
If there is play in the bearings of the front and rear wheel or the
Service Centre check the wheel bearings.
Removing the battery

Remove the seat (see the "Seat" section), remove fuse F, re-
lease the battery from the elastic band, E, and disconnect the
terminals by removing the screws, V.
Checking
Before connecting/disconnecting the terminals (red for the + pole

and black for - pole), remove the fuse.
Make sure the terminals are firmly tightened.
Also check cables and retaining bolts for oxidation or corrosion.
Clean thoroughly or replace if damaged. Upon completion of this
operation, apply a thin coat of grease or vaseline to the terminals.
The battery fluid is poisonous and can cause severe burns. It
