COOLING SYSTEM

1. Remove cap T.
2. The coolant level must be checked on a cold engine since the
level varies with engine temperature. The coolant should be be-
tween the maximum Mx (top end of the radiator) and minimum
level Mn (start of battery cells) marks.
3. If the level is low, add coolant or distilled water up to specified
level.
4. Refit the cap.
Never use hard or salt water since it is harmful for the
engine. If coolant is not available, use distilled water.
If water has been added to the coolant, have a Author-
ised Malaguti Service Centre check the antifreeze con-
tent of the coolant as soon as possible.
Never attempt to remove the radiator cap when the en-
gine and radiator are hot. Scalding hot liquid and steam,
under strong pressure, may explode and this would
cause serious damage. When opening the radiator cap,
bear the following in mind. Wait for the engine to cool
down. Remove the radiator cap retainer screw. Place a

thick rag, such as a towel, over the radiator cap, and then
slowly rotate it leftwards until it stops. This procedure will
allow any residual pressure to escape. When the hissing sound
has stopped, press down on the cap while turning it leftwards,
and then remove it.
Changing the coolant
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and put a pan under the
radiator.
2. Remove clamp F
3. Detach pipe T
