14. MAINTENANCE
For maintenance, use only specifi ed spare parts. The
manufacturer will not be held responsible for any
accident occuring following a repair done other than by
its After Sales Service or approved repairers.
14.1
Changing the battery
Never open the clamp without fi rst disconnecting it
from all external electrical sources.
The clamp must not enclose any conductor.
No leads should be connected.
Set the switch to the OFF position.
Remove the screw from the lower case.
Replace the used battery with a 9V battery, preferably
alkaline (type IEC 6LF22 or NEDA 1604).
14.2
Cleaning
The clamp must be disconnected from all electrical
source.
Keep the teeth of the jaws perfectly clean : they should
be cleaned with a soft, slightly oiled cloth.
Clean the case with a cloth slightly moistened with
soapy water. Rinse with a dry cloth. Then dry quickly
with a cloth or in a hot air stream.
14.3
Metrological check
Like all measuring or testing devices, the instrument
must be checked regularly.
This instrument should be checked at least once a year.
For checking and calibration, contact one of our accredited
metrology laboratories (information and contact details
available on request), at our Chauvin Arnoux subsidiary or
the branch in your country.
14.4
Repair
For all repairs before or after expiry of warranty,
please return the device to your distributor.
