2D
Displays a two-dimensional (2D) black and white image of the
replicated surface. When Memory is on, this thumbnail image is
stored with each peak height (H) reading.
3D
Displays a low-resolution color three-dimensional (3D) image of
the replicated surface. When Memory is on, this thumbnail
image is stored with each peak height (H) reading.
Press the Up navigation button to scroll between 2D and 3D
NOTE:
images if the image does not automatically appear on the display.
Save SDF
Stores a Surface Data File (SDF) to the USB Drive. This pro-
vides a means to perform a more detailed analysis of the surface
using third party image rendering/analysis software. Select Save
SDF within the Memory menu.
Only a single SDF can be stored at a time. Each saved image
overwrites the previous one. The SDF can be accessed when
connected to a computer (see USB Drive pg.12). The file is stored
in the root directory named as rtr_{datetime}.sdf
NOTE:
Optical Grade Replica Tape (pg. 2) is recommended for better
images, consistent peak density values, and higher quality SDF files.
Battery Type
Selects the type of batteries used in the Gage from a choice of
"Alkaline","Lithium"or"NiMH" (Nickel-metal hydride rechargeable).
If NiMH is selected, the Gage will trickle charge the batteries while
connected via USB to a PC or optional AC charger. The battery
state indicator icon is calibrated for the selected battery type. No
damage will occur if the wrong battery type is selected. DeFelsko
recommends the use of eneloop (NiMH) rechargeable batteries.
