Check the air cleaner elements

CAUTION:
Never run the engine without air cleaner; rapid engine wear will
result.
1. Move the choke lever to the full closed position.
2. Open the air cleaner cover by pushing the right side tabs of the air
cleaner cover. Using the left side tabs as the pivoting points, turn
the air cleaner cover and remove it from the air cleaner housing.
3. Remove the air cleaner element (foam element) from the air cleaner
housing. Check the element for dirt.
4. If it is dirty, clean or replace the element (foam element) (Cleaning:
see page 41).
5. Reinstall the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
