Operating levels
The parameterisation of the switchgear is divided
into the menu areas EASY and EXPERT.
For rapid commissioning using the factory presets,
it is enough to set the setpoint 1 in the EASY area.
The EXPERT area is provided in case other param-
eters need to be changed, or for reading out data
from the device.
Menu level 7.0.0.0 is reserved for Salmson cus-
tomer service.
7 Installation and electrical connection
Installation and electrical connection must be
carried out in accordance with local regulations
and only by qualified personnel!
WARNING! Danger of bodily injury!
The existing directives for accident prevention
must be adhered to.
Warning! Danger of electric shock!
Danger from electrical current must be elimi-
nated.
Local directives or general directives [e.g. IEC,
VDE etc.] and local energy supply companies
must be adhered to.
7.1 Installation
• Installation on base frame, FM (frame mounted): In
compact pressure boosting systems, the switch-
gear is mounted on the base frame of the compact
unit using 5 M10 screws.
• Floor model, BM (base mounted): The floor model
is set up free-standing on a level surface (with
sufficient bearing capacity). In the standard, there
is a mounting pedestal 100 mm high for the cable
inlet. Other pedestals are available on request.

7.2 Electrical connection
WARNING! Danger of electric shock
Electrical connection must be carried out by an
electrician authorised by the local electricity
supply company, and in accordance with the
applicable local regulations [e.g. VDE regula-
tions].
Mains connection
Warning! Danger of electric shock!
There is a potentially fatal voltage on the supply
side of the main switch, even when the switch is
turned off.
• The type of mains, current and voltage of the
mains connection must match the details on the
rating plate of the control device.
• Mains requirements:
NOTE:
In accordance with DIN EN / IEC 61000-3-11
(see table below), the switchgear and pump with
motor power of ... kW (column 1) are provided for
operation on a mains power supply with a system
impedance of Z
at the house connection of
max
max. ... ohm (column 2) for a maximum number
of ... connections (column 3).
If the mains impedance and the number of switch-
ing operations per hour is greater than the values
given in the table, because of the unfavourable
mains connections, the switchgear with the pump
may lead to temporary voltage drops and also to
disturbing voltage fluctuations, or flickering.
Therefore, measures may be necessary before the
switchgear with pump can be operated correctly
on this connection. The necessary information
must be obtained from the electricity supply com-
pany and the manufacturer
