5. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
5.1. PRIOR TO USE
5.1.1. POWERING THE PARENT UNIT AND USE OF THE BATTERY
The monitor, or parent unit of this baby monitor is designed to be used with the battery or the AC/DC adaptor
supplied. The rechargeable battery should be charged for at least 6 hours prior to using the device for the first
time or if it hasn't been used for a considerable period of time.
Your baby monitor features a 3.7 V Li-ion internal rechargeable battery.
We recommend using the monitor battery to enable you to receive the audio/video signal from the camera
wherever you are. Connect the monitor to the adapter plugged into the power mains whenever possible in order
to keep the battery charged.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
Connect the power adapter to the power socket located in the side of the unit (16).
Only the adapter supplied should be used. Plug the adapter into the power mains.
While the monitor is connected to the power mains and is charging, the LED charging indicator (1) will iluminate
in purple and the charging icon (j) will be moving in the upper right corner (8) of the screen. Once the device is
fully charged, the LED (1) will remain lit in blue.
On the contrary, when the battery charge level is very low, this LED (1) will light in red, the battery level icon (j)
on the screen will flash and the monitor will start beeping every 20 seconds.
5.1.2. POWERING THE BABY UNIT
The camera, or baby unit, of this baby monitor is designed to be used with the AC/DC adapter supplied.
1. Locate the connecter socket (VII) on the rear of the bay unit.
2. Connect the adapter cable to the mini USB socket in the camera. Only the adapter supplied should be used.
3. Plug the adapter into the power mains.
Warning: Danger of Strangulation – Keep the cable out of the reach of babies. NEVER place a camera
with cables less than 1 meter from a crib. Do not use cable extensions with AC adapters. Only the AC
adapters supplied should be used.
5.2. OPERATION
5.2.1. TURNING THE UNITS ON AND OFF
5.2.1.1. MONITOR
Press down the on button (12) located at the top of the monitor to turn it on and off. The LED on indicator (2) will
light up or go out depending on whether you are turning the unit on or off.
5.2.1.2. CAMERA
Press down the on button (III) for two seconds to turn the camera on or off. The power LED (IX) will light up or go
out depending on whether you are turning the unit on or off.
When the camera has been installed and turned on, you will be able to see the images and hear the sounds
captured in your baby´s room through the monitor.
5.2.2. VOLUME OF THE MONITOR
Press the UP (7) or DOWN (10) navigation button to access the volume bar. Then press the same buttons
to select the desired level of volume, from 0 (silent mode) to 8 (the default volume level is 4). The menu will
disappear automatically after 15 seconds.
5.2.3. BRIGHTNESS OF THE MONITOR
Press the LEFT (9) or RIGHT (8) navigation button to access the brightness bar. Then press the same buttons
to select the desired level of brightness, from 1 to 8 (the default brightness level is 4). The menu will disappear
automatically after 15 seconds.
5.2.4. TALKING TO THE BABY
You can talk to your baby using the parent unit (to reassure him or her you´re nearby, for example) or to your
partner (if he or she is in the baby´s room).
Press down the talk to the baby button (13) and speak into the monitor.
Release the button when you have finished talking to enable you to hear the sounds from your baby´s room
again.
Remember you will not be able to hear your baby while you´re talking to him; you will need to release the button
to do so.
