4.2 Fitting and Application

Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to improper or exces­

Ensure that the brace is applied properly and fits correctly.

► Do not use the product in case of a known heat allergy.

► Advise the patient that the product may not be used if the product or part of the product

> The patient is sitting on the front edge of a chair.
> Open all hook-and-loop closures on the brace.
1) Grasp the brace with both hands on the side and on the upper end of the coil springs and pull
it over the knee (see fig. 1) until the patella cutout is centered on the patella.
2) Close the straps first below and then above the patella (see fig. 2).

> Open all hook-and-loop closures on the brace.
1) Wrap the brace around the knee from behind (see fig. 3).
2) Center the patella cutout over the patella.
3) Fasten the hook-and-loop closure below the patella cutout while applying tension. Make sure
that the hook-and-loop sections are placed over one another.
4) Pull on the hook-and-loop closure to fasten it above the patella (see fig. 4). Make sure that the
hook-and-loop sections are placed over one another.
5) Fasten the straps first below and then above the patella (see fig. 5).
