7.3 Cleaning
NOTICE
Improper cleaning of the wheelchair seat cushion
Risk of damage to seat cushion due to user error
Do not machine wash the foam components.
Do not dry the seat cushion and its components in the tumble dryer.
Gently wipe the surface of the foam components with a soft, damp cloth or sponge; do not
rub. Do not use a brush or similar on the surface.
To prevent mould formation, the foam components must be completely dry before putting
them into the cover.
Do not wash the cover at a temperature higher than specified. The cover can shrink when
washed at higher temperatures. This could impede the seat cushion's ability to redistribute
pressure and damage the fabric.
Do not use any bleaching agents or fabric softeners for cleaning.
INFORMATION
In case of advanced wear and tear, have the components that are available as spare parts
replaced by qualified personnel.
To disinfect the cover, add a standard hygiene detergent during washing.
Use an additional incontinence cover in case of heavy incontinence. Observe the care and
cleaning instructions for the incontinence cover.
Clean the product every month.

7.3.1 Cleaning the cover

1) Unzip and remove the cover for separate washing (see Page 24).
2) Close the zipper on the cover before washing.
3) The cover can be washed at +60 °C [+140 °F] using a mild, environmentally friendly deter
gent.
Recommendation: Wash the cover using the delicate cycle at +40 °C [+104 °F] to prevent
excessive wear and tear.
4) Allow to air dry.
7.3.2 Cleaning the air insert and foam base
1) Remove the air insert and foam base from the cover for cleaning (see Page 24).
2) Use lukewarm water for cleaning. If necessary, an alcohol-free disinfectant or mild detergent
can be added.
3) Wipe the air insert and foam base with a damp cloth or sponge.
INFORMATION: When adding disinfectant or detergent, wipe the air insert and foam
base with clear water in a second step.
4) Dry the air insert and foam base with a towel, dab or let air dry at room temperature.
5) Avoid exposure to direct heat (e.g. sun or heat from radiators and stoves).
