Espresso machine Use instructions
BREWING ESPRESSO
At this stage the espresso machine will be fully prepared:
The container will be filled with water.
The brewing system and the cup(s) to be used will be preheated.
The porta filter (with the appropriate filter and ground coffee) will be properly fitted to the group head.
The POWER indicator light will be illuminated.
The HEATING light will be on if the appliance is still heating up (or it will have turned off when the
correct working temperature has been reached).
Place the cup(s) underneath the espresso outlets.
Set the HOT WATER/STEAM selector to HOT WATER (released) and the function dial to
. Turn
the dial to
begin the brewing process.
Freshly brewed espresso will be poured straight into the cup(s) as soon as the machine has reached
the correct temperature. You must manually turn the function dial to its neutral position to switch the
pump off when you have
enough coffee.
Wait for approximately 30 seconds before removing the porta filter and coffee grounds. Your espres-
so machine is now ready for another brewing cycle.
CAUTION: When removing the porta filter, demonstrate care as it will still be hot and the filter sieve
may contain some hot water.
EMPTYING COFFEE GROUNDS
When emptying the porta filter wait at least 30 seconds until the operating pressure has been redu-
ced. The porta filter can then be taken out and cleaned.
To remove the ground coffee, tap the side of the porta filter. Rinse the filter sieve and wipe the porta
filter.
Run water through the appliance system before turning the appliance off. Turn the dial to
let a
small amount of water to run through the system to wash it out.
Clean the appliance as instructed in 'Cleaning and Care'
DISPENSING HOT WATER
The hot water function is useful for making drinks such as hot chocolate, black coffee and any other
drinks requiring hot water.
Place the cup under the steam nozzle.
Turn the operating dial to
Once you have enough hot water, turn the operating dial to neutral.
