OPERATION
• For best results fill the measuring cup with the substance to be tested.
If this can not be done then use another vessel.
• Suspend the rotor on the drive shaft.
• Immerse the rotor up to the dip mark (on the rotor shaft) into the substance.
• Switch the instrument on and hold it horizontally either by hand or by using the
optional holder and stand mount. If held by hand the viscometer will be in the
correct position if the point of orientation underneath the main switch rests on
the forefinger, as per figure 6.
• Read the measured value from the display. The left hand value indicates the
rotor used (R1 to R3), the right hand value indicates the viscosity in mPas.
The measurement can be performed in any vessel
or in the measuring cup provided with the
viscometer. The displayed viscosity values are only
valid for Newtonian fluids and when the measuring
cup is used. It is strongly recommended to use the
measuring cup, if the measurements must be
made under almost equal conditions.
A slight concentric movement of the rotor during
the measurement is quite normal and does not
affect the viscometer readings.
