Making an auxiliary fence

The standard fence has a v-shaped
sparing, to make possible bevel cuts
from 0° through 45° blade tilt. When cut-
ting small cuttings there is a danger of
the cuttings being caught by the revolv-
ing saw blade and hurled throught this v-
shaped sparing.
It is therefore necessary to fashion a
wooden auxiliary fence for cutting small
parts. This auxilary wooden fence is fas-
tened to the standard fence with screws
and is also cut by the saw blade:
1.
Unplug power cable.
2.
Fix a wooden strip, approx. 600 mm
long, 50 mm high and 15 mm wide,
with wood screws to the standard
fence as illustrated.

Note:
For each bevel angle a separate
appropriate auxiliary fence must be
used.

9. Care and Maintenance

Danger!
A
Prior to all servicing:
− Switch Off.
− Unplug.
− Wait for saw blade to stop.
Check that all safety devices are
operational again after each service.
Replace defective parts, especially
of safety devices, only with genuine
replacement parts. Parts not tested

Saw blade change

A
Danger!
Directly after cutting the saw
blade can be very hot – burning haz-
ard! Let a hot saw blade cool down.
Do not clean a hot saw blade with
inflammable liquids.
Risk of injury, even with the blade at
standstill. When loosening or tighten-
ing the arbor bolt, the retractable
blade guard must cover the blade
fully. Wear gloves when changing
blades.
On re-assembly, observe direction of
rotation of inner blade flange, saw
blade and outer blade flange!
1.
To lock the saw blade, put retention
pin (39) from the top of the motor
casing into the bore hole provided.
Turn blade slowly by hand until the
retention pin engages.
39
2.
Loosen the arbor bolt in the saw
spindle (left-handed thread!).
3.
Open the retractable blade guard
and remove from the saw spindle:
− arbor bolt (40),
− outer blade flange (41),
− saw blade (42) and
− inner blade flange (43)
4.
Clean clamping surfaces of:
− saw spindle,
− inner blade flange,
− saw blade,
− outer blade flange,
− arbor bolt.
Danger!
A
Do not use cleaning agents
(e.g. to remove resin residue) that
could corrode the light metal compo-
nents of the saw; the stability of the
saw would be adversely affected.
Slide inner blade flange (43) into
5.
saw spindle.
Fit fresh saw blade (42) –
6.
observe direction of rotation (arrow)!
