The following mechanisms on the pressure cooker are intended for your safety:
• Lid locking device.
Once the operating pressure has been reached, this locking mechanism prevents the lid from opening.
At the same time, this locking mechanism prevents the pressure from rising inside the cooker if the lid
has not been closed properly.
• Increased pressure can escape through the safety valve.
• If adverse conditions prevent the valves from regulating the pressure, pressure will escape through the
safety opening in the lid.
The PC-SKT 1071 and PC-SKT 1072 pressure cookers have been designed and manufactured accord-
ing to the European Directive 97/23/EG and European Standard EN 12778:2002.
A pressure cooker requires different handling than standard cookware.
Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with your new product before using it for the first time.
Opening the cooker
1. Slide the locking device (9) on the lid towards the pressure control.
2. Turn the lid handle anticlockwise.
3. Then remove the lid.
Markings
• There are arrow markings located on the lid and cooker handle. The arrows will help you install or
remove the lid more easily.
• There is an I marking next to the pressure control for adjusting the pressure control.
• Inside the cooker there is a minimum level marking, a maximum level marking and a liter scale.
Closing the lid
1. Place the lid on flat.
2. The arrow markings must point to each other.
3. Turn the lid handle clockwise.
4. When the locking device (9) "clicks" into place, the lid has been closed properly.
Cleaning
• Clean the cooker, the lid and the sealing ring as usual in soapy water.
• Rinse all parts with clean water.
• Dry all parts with a cloth afterwards.
