Aftergraspingthehandrails,tablesidesortableboard,theusercanpulluporpushthemself
up(Fig.15/16).
Themanualstraprewinderallowstheusertostandupinstages,sincethemanualstraprewinder
locksandholdstheuserinanypositionwheninthefunctionalposition"stand".
Iftheuserhasnotthenecessarystrengthintheirarms,anattendantshouldsupporttheuser:
• Theattendantpositionshim-/herselfsothattherighthandgraspsundertheuser'srightaxilla
andthelefthandundertheuser'sbuttocks.
• Thestraprewinderallowstheusertocorrecthisgraspalreadyduringstandingup,since
theirbodyweightisheldinanyposition.Properpositioningofthebeltisrequired,however.
Thestrapsofthestraprewindershouldrunslightlyupwards(Fig.15).
Togetbackfromthestandingpositionintothewheelchair,firstturntheupperswitchleverto
"release"(Fig.13,item2).Inspiteofthe"release"position,theuserbeltisstilllocked.
Tounlockthebelt,thepressureonbothstrapsmustberelieved.Nowtheuserisnolongerheld
bythestrapsystem.Theuserthenholdsontothetableorhandrailsandletshim-/herselfglide
downintothewheelchair.
Iftheuserhasnotthenecessarystrengthintheirarms,anattendantshouldsupporttheuser.
