SIM Card Slot (6)
The BDU has a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card slot located
at the connector panel behind a small cover plate. The UE requires a
dedicated FleetBroadband SIM card to access the FleetBroadband net-
work and configure the settings of the UE.
There are 4 Status LEDs to indicate the operational status of the BDU at one glance.
Each LED is assigned to the following function:
1. Power/BDU Status. 2. Network Status. 3. ADU Status. 4. Call/Message Alert.
The Primary Handset
The Primary Handset (corded) has a colour LCD
and keypad for making voice calls and sending SMS
using an interface similar with a mobile phone. You
can use it to control and configure the BDU.
The Primary Handset is connected to the BDU
using the dedicated Handset interface and is pow-
ered directly from the BDU. For information on how
to use the handset, see Chapter 3, Using the Primary
Handset.
