Maintenance
Information on the appropriate cleaning and disinfecting
agents and their specifications can be found in document
9100081 at: www.draeger.com/IFU.
Maintenance may only be carried out by duly trained specialist
personnel. The filtering escape device must undergo maintenance as
described below every four years or if opened in error:
Remove the used filter.
Prepare a cleaning solution consisting of water and a cleaning
agent.
Clean the half mask or mouthpiece with a soft cloth and the
cleaning solution.
Rinse thoroughly under running water afterwards.
Prepare a disinfectant bath consisting of water and a disinfecting
agent.
Place the half mask or mouthpiece in the disinfectant bath.
Rinse thoroughly under running water afterwards.
Dry the half mask or the mouthpiece in the air or in a drying cabinet
(temperature: max. 55 °C). Do not expose to direct sunlight.
Take the replacement filter from its factory package and attach it to
the mask or mouthpiece so that the storage expiry date is visible
through the package.
Packing the device:
Close the parts of the plastic case and secure them with adhesive
tape and a new seal.
Check that the seal is correctly applied and is undamaged.
After replacement of the filter, the useful life of the filtering escape
device is extended to the date shown on the new filter. The total
operational lifetime of the filtering escape device is 12 years. The total
operational lifetime goes by the oldest part of the device. Note the
expiry date of the filter and the dates of manufacture on all plastic and
rubber parts.
