thank you for choosing a product from Bauerfeind. MOS Genu is a high-quality medical product.
Please read the instructions carefully and if you have any questions contact your medical provider, medical retailer or our Technical
Service department.
MOS Genu is a therapeutic device designed to aid your treatment. It helps to protect your knee during therapy an assists your
muscle development during physical therapy exercises.
MOS Genu must be individually adapted to the patient by a trained orthopaedic technician in order to gain the maximum effect
and optimal wear comfort from this orthosis
.

Side effects
Side effects involving the body as a whole have not been reported to date. Correct tting is assumed. Any supports and orthoses
applied externally to the body can, if tightened excessively, lead to local pressure signs or, rarely, constrict the underlying blood
vessels or nerves.
Contraindications
Hypersensitive reactions harmful to health have not been reported to date. In the following conditions such aids should only be
tted and applied after consultation with your medical provider:
1. Skin disorders/injuries in the relevant part of the body, particularly if in ammation is present. Likewise, any raised scars with
swelling, redness and excessive heat build-up.
2. Varicose veins.
3. Impaired sensation and circulatory disorders of the legs, e.g. diabetes mellitus.
4. Impaired lymph drainage – including soft tissue swellings of uncertain origin located remotely from the tted aid.
To make MOS Genu as comfortable as possible for you to wear, please observe the following points:
• Keep the leg as clean as possible, particularly after the operation.
• Please put on and take off MOS Genu whilst seated.
Putting on the orthosis
• Place MOS Genu around your knee.
• Rotate round the knee pads until they are lying at on the sides of the knee.
• Fasten the lower part of the orthosis as follows: Centre the main xing strap incorporating the pad, pull on both sides
simultaneously and secure the Velcro fastening. In the same manner, attach the strap below, beginning with the strap closest to
the joint.
• Secure the upper part of the orthotic support as follows: First centre the strap closest to the joint, pull on both sides
simultaneously and secure the Velcro fastening. Follow a similar procedure for the uppermost straps.
• Always pull the straps tight on both sides simultaneously.
• To ensure that the orthosis is tted properly, use a mirror for veri cation.
Taking off the orthosis
IMPORTANT!
Unfasten the main xing strap incorporating the pad last.
• First release all thigh straps, working from one side of the orthosis only.
• Then lift the upper part from the thigh. During this process the round pads at the sides remain in contact with the knee.

• Now, working from one side of the orthosis only, release straps on the lower leg section of the orthosis.
• After releasing all straps, slip the orthosis aforward and off the knee joint.

Important information
• MOS Genu is a prescribed product that should be applied under a physician's guidance. MOS Genu should only be applied in
accordance with the instructions contained in these usage directions and only for the listed areas of application.
• The product is intended to be tted only once and to one patient.
• No liability is accepted for improper use of the product.
• Changes must not be made for the product. Non compliance can reduce the performance of the product and thus no liability will
be accepted.
• Should you notice any unusual changes (e.g. increased symptoms), please contact your medical provider without delay.
• A combination with other products (e.g. compression stockings) must be discussed beforehand with your medical provider.
• Avoid the use of ointments, lotions or any substances including grease or acids.
• MOS Genu is not designed to prevent injuries, especially when engaging contact sports. Contact sports inherently pose a greater
risk of injury.
• The product can be disposed of without any restrictions.

Never expose the orthosis to direct heat (e.g. heater, sunlight, etc.)!
The aluminium parts of the support are coated and can be cleaned with a pH-neutral soap. We recommend washing the pads at 30° C
on a gentle wash cycle and hand-washing the straps at 30° C.
This product has been examined by our own quality control system. However, should you have any complaint, please contact your
retailer or our customer service department.
