Check operation of chain brake
Before starting work:
Disengage the chain brake

Switch on the chain saw

Push hand guard in direction of bar

The hand guard must be free from dirt
and move freely.
Chain brake maintenance
The chain brake is subject to normal
wear. It is necessary to have it serviced
and maintained regularly by trained
personnel, such as your STIHL servicing
dealer, at the following intervals:
Full-time usage:

Connecting to Power Supply

The voltage of your power supply and
the voltage specified on the saw must be
the same.
Connect the saw via a ground-fault
circuit breaker with a tripping current of
max. 30 mA. Extension cords must be
suitable for outdoor use.
Mains power outlet: Must be equipped
with a fuse or automatic circuit breaker.
Extension cords
If the fuse or circuit breaker is tripped
when you switch on the saw, use an
extension cord (at least 35 ft/10 m long)
that meets the specifications in the
following table.
